Tom Walter with the Forum for Catholic Business People
Sep 16 @ 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Tom Walter will be a panelist with the Forum for Catholic Business People. A thought-provoking forum for objective, engaging and candid discussion on what Catholics expect or should expect the role of the church to be in light of the upcoming presidential election.

A moderated, balanced, interactive exchange of perspectives, questions and answers, featuring an in-depth look at Faithful Citizenship, the teaching document of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Catholic panelists from different walks of life (www.faithfulcitizenship.org).

Many Catholics believe there is a marked absence of discussion of issues that directly or indirectly impact the Catholic conscience. Political leaders are quick to emphasize and capitalize on what divides us rather than what unites us. At a time when our country appears more divided now than ever, Church leaders can appear to be overly cautious to express views that may be in conflict with political decisions impacting the moral integrity of society, or that are in direct conflict with our faith. Some Catholic political leaders express views in conflict with basic Catholic teaching, or support legislation that promotes social conduct that is in direct conflict with our faith.

What level of engagement should we expect from our Church leaders?
What leadership does the Church offer that may inspire Catholic understanding and engagement?
What thought process does the Church endorse that will guide
Catholic political deliberation and decision making?

The forum is intended to be a thoughtful exchange of ideas in an atmosphere of respectful dialogue, focusing on the guidance offered by Church leaders in developing an informed Catholic conscience, and the challenges of the present moment in our society as we approach the presidential election.

Registrations are REQUIRED for this program which is free of charge.
Deadline: Sept. 12

Leadership and the Dawn of the New Economy: As the nation tentatively takes its first steps out of the most crushing recession in nearly 100 years, new realities for organizations are emerging with it. These new realities have implications for organizational strategy, start-ups, human systems, education, sustainability, green practices, and ethics here in the United States, as well as across the globe. The manner in which leaders address these new realities will have tremendous implications for the future. Research and conceptual papers which highlight where we are going and the kinds of competencies and aptitudes necessary to get there is what this conference is examining.
